We anticipate it will take approximately 6 months to explore all 5 options that were published in March 2024.
We anticipate it will take up to 2 years to finalise a proposal and then commence with proposed plans that could result in the market reopening.
Supporting our traders
We understand that the ongoing situation with the Market Hall may impact on your business and your ability to trade.
- We are extending the offer of the £3,500 one-off support payment for the period of the Market closure to enable you to trade somewhere else or via alternative means
- Those traders relocated to within the Mill Gate can continue to trade under the current agreement for 12 Months, but this will be reviewed once firm timescales are realised
- We will continue to consult with the BMTA, NMTF and Traders as the options are developed
- The Markets Management Team can support traders by signposting them to a business advisor, if appropriate, for independent business and personal finance advice
